Is My Classroom Set Up for Relationships to Thrive? Checklist

The following worksheet for assessing the relational readiness of your classroom is not exhaustive, merely suggestive. Feel free to add ways that you create space for relationships to flourish.

The Checklist Every Educator Needs for Their Classroom

Improving students' relationships with teachers has important, positive and long-lasting implications for both students' academic and social development. Students who have close, positive and supportive relationships with their teachers will attain higher levels of achievement than those students with more conflict in their relationships.

When you are finished, consider your responses. Celebrate your strengths and what you have in place that is designed to create connections! Then, consider if there areas that you could adjust your approach to increase connection with your students.
