Friendzy Lent Resources

friendzy Lent resources

Lent is a time when we engage in prayer, fasting, and almsgiving. It's a solemn but joyful time!

What a gift it is to practice our faith in the very same buildings our students learn and grow in every day. As teachers, we have the opportunity to help our students connect with Jesus through prayer, worship, and Scripture.

As we start our Lenten journey, we begin a season of renewing and deepening our faith. Lent is a time when we engage in prayer, fasting, and almsgiving. It's a solemn but joyful time! As we embrace the suffering of Jesus' crucifixion, we know that it leads to the joy of His resurrection.

We hope you enjoy using these Lenten resources with your students this season!

STRENGTHEN OUR RELATIONSHIP WITH GOD:

Friendzy Prayer Cube Printable

This activity will create space for students to spend time in prayer during Lent intentionally.

  • Invite students to cut out the downloadable template.

  • Have students fill in all sides of the cube with people or things they can pray for during Lent.

  • Once students have filled out the cube, have them fold and glue it together following the template outline.

  • Invite students to roll the cube daily and pray for the person or thing they rolled on.

For younger students: If you prefer making one Prayer Cube for the whole class, invite your students to help you fill out each side with their ideas. As a class, roll the cube and offer up prayer intentions together.

STRENGTHEN OUR RELATIONSHIP WITH SELF:

“My Lenten Promise” Download

Lent is a time of personal and spiritual growth. During Lent, we often make a Lenten Promise. What can we can do or give up that will strengthen our relationship with God and ourselves?

Invite students to color the worksheet and complete the sentence stem at the bottom: During Lent, I promise to ____________.

For older students: Invite your students throughout the Lenten season to reflect on their Lenten promise through discussion or journaling. If you need ideas, below are guided prompts to consider:

  • What are ways you can uphold your Lenten promise? What are some steps you can take to keep it?

  • What can you do if you are struggling with upholding your Lenten promise? What are some ways you can remain committed?

  • Name 2 people you would like to share your Lenten promise with. How could they support you?

  • After Lent → Reflect on the past 40 days. How did your Lenten promise deepen your faith?
